Sampford Courtenay, a Devon Heritage village famous for the Prayer Book rebellion is sited in the centre of Devon. A ten minute car journey from the A30 through glorious countryside and you will arrive at the village “frozen in time”. Pass the village pub, climb Rectory Hill and half way up on your right you will find Culverhayes. Away from the well established tourist locations we are four miles from Dartmoor National Park and a half hour car journey from Exeter, a wonderful cathedral city. For aspiring gardeners there is Rosemore and for history lovers Torrington. Outdoor activities abound, horse riding, walking tours, fishing all within a few miles. A short car ride will take you to either coast where you can explore the delights of Salcombe on one side or Woollacombe on the other.

Directions:

From Exeter take the A30.  Exit left off the A30 at the Whiddon Down sign onto the A382.  Pass the service station on your right and take the next right onto the A3124 to Winkleigh and Torrington.  Follow this road to the crossroad turning left onto the A3072.  Turn right at the next junction signposted Winkleigh and Sampford Courtenay (still the A3072).  This road will lead you to the village.  Cross over the village crossroads (The New Inn Pub on your right) and climb the hill 100 yards and  Culverhayes will appear as the second drive on your right.
